Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed dismantling and repairing or creating projects. Whether this be making board games or taking apart and then putting together the toys I owned at the time. This hobby progressed with me through childhood when I started playing video games so I wanted to make my own and find out how others were made. I became heavily invested in video games as they seemed really interesting to me which culminated in me taking game design and media at high school and college. During this time I made multiple games in a variety of engines (Unity, Unreal, Game maker) which included a short skiing minigame and a basic roguelike.
Coding games is the perfect mix of problem solving and finding out how systems work whilst creating a final obtainable project. This made me go to college to study media and computer science so that I could get a step ahead of competition and learn more about good production practices and techniques. I am currently on target to get a B in computing and a D*D in Media. I have learnt the Adobe Creative Cloud and have a understanding of Python and standard game engines.
I aim to start as a junior programmer at a large studio and then to progress my career at an independent studio.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to apply for the role of graduate programmer which has been advertised on your website. My CV has been included to show my experience.
By looking at the attached CV I have experience with programming concepts and how they fit into a larger project when making a game. I also have experience with other parts of making games using industry standards such as Maya or the Adobe Creative Cloud which shows I know how to code using the other products and can implement them into what is being made. This makes me a great candidate for the role.
Given my personal skills and past experiences I am confident that I can bring success to the company and will fit into the existing system very well. I would like to help keep Frontier Developments one of the best studios in Britain.
Thank you for our time and I’m looking forward to discussing my application.
Yours sincerely,
Charlie Brown
